Sunflowers At Sundown
As you drive down highway 80 from the Bay Area towards Sacramento you drive though some smaller cities with greenbelts serving as a buffer between them. You will drive past orchards that bloom in the early spring, corn, beets, sunflowers and many other plants.
The sunflowers grow fast here in California and they are ready to harvest mid summer.
I captured this image outside of the city of Davis. This field has become a magnet for sunflower gawkers. There is a frontage road along the freeway and for weeks on end cars are parked on the shoulder up and down the road. I hope you enjoy this little slice of the Central Valley.
