Kilauea Lighthouse II
The Kilauea Lighthouse sits out on the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refugee on the north shore of the island of Kauai.
Construction began in July 1912 and the was dedicated in May of 1913. The light has a range of 9 miles and was used to guide ships into the harbor.
The lighthouse sits on a peninsula of primarily volcanic rock with lush green grasses and plants. The light is 52 feet tall and sits on a cliff that is roughly 120 feet from the ocean. This gives the light a focal height of 174 feet.
The peninsula is surrounded by a beautiful deep blue Pacific Ocean accented yb big fluffy white clouds and blue skies.
