Description
Half Dome Landscape,
Half Dome is one of if not the most iconic scenes in Yosemite National Park and perhaps the United States. This beautiful ,massive formation was formed over many million years and a couple of ice ages. The whole valley was formed by the lifting of the Sierras and the carving of ice as it marched south.
When all this was over, and it really isn't yet, we were left this fantastically beautiful scene. There have been and will continue to be changes with Half Dome and the surrounding area as the cliffs slough off huge chunks of granite every now and then.
This image was captured from across the valley on top of Glacier Point.
