Description
Titus Canyon
Titus Canyon in Death Valley National Park is an amazing section of the park that has so much to see along the way.
Take the one way road just west of the old Nevada ghost town of Rhyolite. This road will allow for smaller SUVs but 4WD is recommended.
After traveling several miles on a dirt road full of washboard bumps almost all the way to the entrance to the canyon then the road trades the washboard for ruts and potholes. Did I mention that the road narrows drastically to barely the width of a full size truck?
This image was captured at the crest of the ridge as you enter the canyon. Beautiful, colorful mountains are the reward for making the trip. Be sure to stop at Leadfield. Leadfield is a ghost town along the way. Without Leadfield this magnificent road probably would have never been built.
