We left out of Fairbanks in the morning with a stop near Delta Junction. We were heading southwest towards Wrangle - St. Elias National Park. Alaska Route 2A always seems to be listed as one of the top 10 highways in America.
I've been on many of beautiful highways in this country and I can tell you that this would probably rank in the final 4. Just an amazing drive with snow capped peaks and wide open expanses at every turn.
I look forward to the day when I can spend more time in this part of the country because it is truly an amazing place.
I captured this image at a turnoff in the highway about halfway between Fairbanks and Wrangel - St. Elias National Park.
