Downtown Harbor Springs
Harbor Springs is a small town in the northwestern area of the Lower Peninsula in the State of Michigan. I spent a few years living here after graduating high school years ago. I still have family there and I still consider this back home.
The town is roughly 1.5 square miles with just over 1200 year round residents. Probably twice that many in the surrounding area. During the summertime this sleepy little towns booms with tourism as it sits on the shore of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan.
Harbor Springs is located north of the 45th parallel so in the summer the days are long. I woke up early one morning to came into town before it woke up so I could catch the stillness that comes off Lake Michigan after a storm blows through.
