Spent a little time sitting on Stoneman Bridge over the Merced River. If you look southwest you have a perfect view of Yosemite Falls and an open meadow. Turn around and look north up river and staring down at you is the face of Half Dome.
On a nice summer day you can walk down to the river and put your feet in. If your a kid or if you don't mind ice cold water you can go for a swim. Remember this is all snow melt runoff.
I captured this during the middle of the winter just after a winter storm cleared the valley putting a nice white blanket of snow on Half Dome and the pine trees that line the Merced River.
I had a difficult time pulling the details out of the shadows so I shot multiple exposures at different settings and then blended them together on the computer to allow some detail on the face of Half Dome.
