Description
GTO
This red Pontiac GTO was found at an annual Fiesta Day car show. These cars can bring a smile to anyone's face that has ever ridden or driven in one of these late 60's American Muscle cars.
The car received it's name from car designer and enthusiast John DeLorean saying that it's name was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO.
The first GTO was an option package for the Pontiac Tempest back in 1964. The option package cost $296.00 and included a 389 Cubic Inch engine rated at 325 Horse Power at 4800 RPM.
This 1966 GTO has the ram air package with the high lift cam producing 360 + horsepower. This was also the year that the GTO stood alone as it's own model separating it from the Tempest.
To be in this car when the gas pedal was pushed t the floor was sure exhilaration.
