Description
Fruit of the Vine.
Living in Northern California to me is a wonderful experience living so close to so many world class vineyards and wineries.
I live just west of Napa valley and there are many wineries in Solano and other neighboring counties also.
Being able to see the growing season go through all it's cycles is really a treat. Starting out in the winter when the vines are dormant. The vines are pruned and prepared for the coming growing season.
Late winter brings about the wild mustard that seems to grow between all the rows in the vineyards bringing out bright vibrant yellow flowers. As the spring rains dry up the mustard starts loosing the color and the grapes start appearing on the vines.
In early to mid fall the grapes become ready for harvest and the wineries team with activity. Finally in late fall when some vines start changing colors and others drop their leaves heading back into dormancy.
This image was captured just before the harvest.
