This image is a capture of the Gallatan Mountain Range in Yellowstone National Park and more specifically, is a capture of Electric Peak as a summer storm is held up behind it.
I really like this as it was my first day of my first trip to Yellowstone National Park and I had only been in the park for a couple of hours. We drove in from West Yellowstone and drove north towards the Hot Springs stopping a number of times along the way. As we drove north I saw this wide open meadow with a pull off and knew that I had to stop. I could just sit here for hours and maybe next time I will. The only thing that could have made this better perhaps would have been if there had been some lightning in the air.
Either way, the wide open landscape of this area of the park is so incredible. It's no wonder that they say Montana is big sky country.
