Description
Driving up Highway 120 out of Yosemite Valley you pass through a couple of tunnels. Once you get near the second tunnel there is a turn out on the left hand side of the road. Next to the turn off is a small creek/waterfall. Most people will walk across the highway and look at the creek as it comes cascading down off the side of the mountain.
Very few will walk down the steep path that works it's way down to where I captured this image from. It is a little dangerous and not for anyone who isn't sure footed with a good sense of balance. After walking/climbing down a steep path there is a fairly large landing area that you can set up with a tripod you just need to be careful and very aware of your surroundings as there is a large cliff a little bit further down and it is not forgiving.
I shot this image by taking multiple exposures and then blending them together then converting the finished image to black and white. By doing this I was able top maintain good crisp details in the rocks and a nice flow in the water.
