This image, to me and many of my other phototgraphs of California are what I call, my California. My California is not what is broadcast across the country and in some cases the world. My California is not the glamour, the sunny beaches, the movie stars.
My California is mainly about the West, the open country, the rugged mountains and the rugged coast. My California is about real places and yes they are places that you see and hear about in books and brochures but it's also mainly about the rural country not the large cities.
This image is typical of my California. This is a capture of a working fishing boat docked in Noyo Harbor in Ft BRagg California. Ft BRag is roughly 3-1/2 hours north of San Francisco and may as well be in another world. This is an area that started out as a lumber town, the town was owned basically by the lumber company. Welcome. Thank you for taking your time to visit my galleries. I'm a photographer that makes his home in Northern California. I love getting out shooting the outstanding scenery that this area has to offer. I may be in Yosemite one weekend and the Napa wine country the next. I try not to set limits on where, when or what I shoot. I've been shooting photography now for roughly six years and am learning something new every time I go out.
