The Point Reyes Beached.
The Pt Reyes has been one of my favorite photographic subjects ever since I discovered washed up on the shore of Tomales Bay many years ago. When I first shot her I didn't really know the significance of the boat and why she was there.
To this day I don't really know that much about her. What I do know is that over the last 5-7 years I have watched her slowly deteriorate. That process was hastened by a photographer just recently when he set the stern on fire and burnt the back of the boat almost completely.
I drove out to her a couple of weeks ago as there was talk of having her removed as she has now become a safety hazard. This is what I found. I hope they leave her there to finish her journey.
