Sacramento Valley Veterans Cemetery.
The Sacramento Valley Veterans Cemetery Is located between the cities of Vacaville and Dixon about half hour west of Sacramento. Roughly 10 miles from my home. My father and brother both served in the military, I never did.
When I was of age to join, registration for the Vietnam War had ended and the military was not very popular. Most kids that joined in the late 70's seemed to be kids that had nowhere to go or had gotten in trouble with the law. At least that's the way it seemed in my eyes.
As I grew up I became more aware of what our soldiers have done, what they are asked to do, and the sacrifices they make.
This image was taken just before memorial day when volunteers spend hours placing flags next to each headstone.
