Drive north on the Silverdao Trail north of the city of Napa into the Napa Valley and some of the most renowned wineries in the country open up to you. There are so many wineries that you couldn't take them all in even if you stayed in the valley for a week. The number I heard was 400+ wineries, vineyards, and tasting rooms in the valley. That number seems high but I know there are many.
I recently visited Ragusci Winery. Roughly 10 minutes north on the Silverado Trail turning right off the highway. Note to those that are not familiar with the valley, try to time your stops so that you can turn right out of the winery as you move on to your next destination as the road gets mighty crowded, especially on weekends and turning left can take some time.
The drive up to the tasting room takes you past the vineyard and up to a rural scene with the barn, wagons, old trucks, and of course the winery. This is a beautiful setting that allows you to sit and look across th...
