Description
Union Pacific 4466.
The Union Pacific 4466 began it's life in October 1920 to perform switching duty and transfer runs. She started out her career in Cheyenne Wyoming until she was transferred to Grand Island Nebraska working there until 1973.
1978 was the year she was donated to the California State Railroad Museum.
In 1984 she was restored to service pulling excursion trains along the Sacramento River for the museum.
She was finally retired for good in 1999 due to new regulations by the state of California banning operations of coal fired steam engines.
Now she sits unused in the locomotive barn wonderfully preserved but with no place to go.
