Description
Yosemite National Park is my most favorite place on the planet that I have been able to visit. I just love the mountain setting and the shear cliffs of the valley.
The trees seem to grow larger, the air seems cleaner and everything just seems larger than life in the valley.
The park is visited by over 3 million people on an annual basis and so one of my challenges when I go there is to find the path that few have taken.
On the way out of the valley a couple mile from the valley floor is a creek that cascades down of the mountains and is broken by many falls along the way. This is known as, you guessed it, Cascade Creek.
Many visitors stop at the turnout and look up over the road and view the waterfall from the side of the road. This image was taken by hiking down an unauthorized hiking trail on the other side of the road. It is not a place for a person that is not sure footed or afraid of heights.
This image was captured under the bridge on Hwy 120 as the water flows directly below the bridge. This cascades to the right for roughly 100 feet before finally falling into the valley an additional 800 ft.
