Description
Reno Balloon Races
The Reno Balloon Race is the largest free hot air ballooning event in the world. This takes place every year in September.
The day starts out early in the morning with the Super Burn. This is where a handful of balloons fire up their burners before sunrise, inflate their balloons and lift off, tethered to the ground so they don't float away. Then they take turns and synchronize their burners to set up an early morning glow above the field.
Starting at 7:00 am is the start of the mass ascension. This is where all of the balloons start inflating and lift off when ready to go. This is a capture of the balloons inflating prior to lift off.
