Description
Emerald Cascade.
A few miles outside of Yosemite Valley but still in the park is a little turnoff on Hwy 120 that mostly goes unnoticed. It's a real shame because at that turn off is this little gem off a waterfall. Cascade Creek drops down from the higher peaks on the north side and then cross under the highway here at the bridge.
This has become one of my favorite places in the park to just chill out and relax. There is a path just off of the parking lot, not a real trail but a path. If you navigate that path down a somewhat steep but doable hill you can sit here on the rocks and just listen and watch the water flow by. It's really quite enjoyable.
A word of warning should you decide to visit this location, just to the right of where this image was captured the fall drops a good 400+ feet down to the valley floor.
