Description
Crooked River Marina.
Down on the Crooked River in Alanson Michigan is this small little boat house/marina right next to the draw bridge in downtown Alanson.
The crooked River is part of what is known as the Inland Waterway in Northern Michigan. The Inland Waterway connects Lake Michigan to Lake Huron without traveling through the Straits of Mackinaw. The only catch is that in order to do this you must travel either by canoe or kayak. Without a canoe or kayak you can make it roughly 90% of the way.
On one end of Crooked River is Crooked Lake and on the other side is Burt Lake. Burt Lake flows into the Indian River and that flows into Mullet Lake, Mullet Lake empties into the Cheboygan River and then finally into Lake Huron.
